Various Projects – Bothell WA, Snohomish County, WA
KLN Construction is a land acquisition, entitlement and permitting firm that sells assemblages to other
builders or builds homes under the Village Life brand. Brandon worked as a land development engineer
on many assemblages, which typically varied between 12 to 80 single family homes. Brandon's main
duties were to serve senior staff in a support role. Creating lot layouts and development of balanced
site grading plans were his two primary functions. Brandon also assisted with responding to contractor
requests for information and revisions to designed plans. Brandon even approved shop drawings after
checking them for consistency with engineered plans.

This project involved upgrades to 244th
ST to SE 8th
ST – City of Sammamish, WA
AVE SE to transform it into a minor arterial. This involved the
addition of a two way turn lane and raised median, planter strips and sidewalk improvements, storm
water, illumination and channelization design as well as the addition of two roundabouts at major
intersections. Brandon was involved significantly with all aspects of this project, from roadway
geometry to channelization, estimates and specifications working under the direction senior-level design
staff. Brandon was the self taught resident Civil 3D expert in the office and utilized it extensively.
Lacey Gateway Project Phase 1 and 2 – City of Lacey, WA
This project involved design of a brand new roadway situated right of the Marvin Rd interchange on I-5
to serve the new town center community in the City of Lacey, WA. This project contained two new
roundabouts, an additional slip lane at an existing roundabout as well as a brand new 4 lane road
sidewalk, planter strips and extra wide median/planter to provide right-of-way for future growth in the
area. Brandon was involved significantly with all aspects of this project, from roadway geometry to
channelization, estimates and specifications working under the direction senior-level design staff.
Brandon was the self taught resident Civil 3D expert in the office and utilized it extensively. This project
won a design excellence award from the American Public Works Association.
SR 527 Improvements - 228th
ST SE to 240 ST SE – City of Bothell, WA
This project will widen SR 527 from two lanes to four lanes with a center dual left turn lane; install
curbs/gutters, sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides, interconnect and coordinate signals; and provide
access management, retaining walls, storm drainage, water quality improvements, bus stop facilities,
landscaping and illumination. Brandon was involved significantly with all aspects of this project, from
roadway geometry to channelization, estimates and specifications working under the direction seniorlevel
design staff. Brandon was the self taught resident Civil 3D expert in the office and utilized it
extensively.

Shoreline Traffic Engineering Services – City of Shoreline, WA
Under a design services contract with the City of Shoreline, various design tasks were completed for the
city. These included the design of upgrades/modifications to existing curb ramps to ADA Compliance.
Also provided were channelization and sidewalk design upgrades and modifications. Brandon was
involved with the design of new ramps and sidewalks to ensure they met ADA standards.
83rd Avenue NE Traffic Analysis - City of Kenmore, Washington.
This project entailed the evaluation and design of traffic calming devices along a segment of 83rd
Avenue NE in Kenmore, Washington. Brandon was part of a design team responsible for the evaluation
and design of traffic calming devices along a residential segment of 83rd Avenue NE in Kenmore,
Washington.
Index - Galena Flood Repairs - Snohomish County Public Works.
Route feasibility study to determine the most promising solutions to repair major flood damage
between mileposts 6.4 and 6.9 of Index–Galena Road—the primary access road for several popular
hiking trails and campsites in the Mount Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest, Washington. Fourteen
alternatives were evaluated and three (plus a no-build option) were recommended for further
consideration. Brandon was responsible for assisting with alternative selection and evaluation by
developing earthwork quantities using Civil 3D for six selected alternatives that made it through the
selection process.
Amtrak Cascades Maintenance Facility - Seattle, WA, PCL Civil Constructors, Inc.
A design-build project that involved the design of porous pavement for parking and low-volume areas
and the use of green design for infiltrating the storm water from buildings. The scope of work included
coordination with other design team members, and responding to RFIs and material reviews from the
contractor. Brandon was part of the team responsible for drafting responses to RFIs, AutoTurn analysis,
grading design, and revisions to storm water design often working extra hours to meet deadlines for this
project.
US 2 Route Development Plan – WSDOT (Washington State Department of Transportation)
Brandon did level of service analysis as well as deficiency studies of a 47 mile segment of US2.
US20/26 Corridor Preservation Study – ITD (Idaho Transportation Department)
Brandon did level of service analysis using Synchro from Aviation Way to Eagle RD along US 20/26.
I-5 Conway to Cook Master Plan – WSDOT (Washington State Department of Transportation)
Brandon examined existing interchanges for geometric deficiencies to current design standards and
evaluated options to address these deficiencies.
